Teleconference Notes
DAMED-WG
30 May 2002
Attending:
James Magowan, Brian Tierney, Bruce Lowekamp, Beth Plale, George Brent,
Dan Gunter
Discussions:
- Top N Strawman -- James explained his idea of using a prefix of the
event name to determine the target type. Some questions were raised about
whether this scheme would be too fragile. No consensus on this, but general
consensus that the Top N Strawman needs more explanation of the logic behind
the hierarchy.
- What is a network topology? General agreement that representing network
topologies is not easy. This led to a majority opinion that "src<->dest"
was the topology that provided the most bang for the buck at this stage.
- Beth mentioned the Grid Notification Framework soft-state protocol
with 3 timestamps instead of one. Agreed that it is a possible future modification.
Action Items:
- James will work up examples of "target.event" naming
- Beth/James will provide some use-cases for SQL/database translation
of the "Top N"
- Dan/Brian will provide an XML mapping of the "Top N"
- Jenny got "volunteered" to produce an LDAP mapping of the "Top N"
- We will reconvene in roughly 2 weeks to discuss progress.
