The DPSS Image Tile Browser (ibrowse) Instructions

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Data Intensive Distributed Computing Project

This page contains instructions for using the LBNL Image Tile Browser with the DPSS.

Image Tile Browser (ibrowse)

ibrowse can be used for viewing image tile pyramids that were created for use with TerraVision.

To use ibrowse, first make sure your DPSSHOST environment variables are correct. DPSSHOST should be the name of the host running the DPSS master process you plan to use.

You may want to add lines similar to this to your .cshrc file:

	setenv DPSSHOST iss-1.sri.magic.net

To verify the DPSS is up and running correctly, run dpss_status.

Next just type "ibrowse". You should get a list of data sets to select from. Click on one of the data set names to view it.

If you are having trouble using ibrowse, run it with the options "-D -V" (debug and verbose), and send the output to BLTierney@lbl.gov.
